Jim and his mother move into David’s house after David’s father moves to Long Beach. David and Jim think they hear voices behind the walls of their bedrooms and search to find the cause. They find hidden rooms and ancient Chinese artifacts. They visit the owner of the old house and learn about the old days in California and the persecution of Chinese. Only after they discover the owner of the voices they have heard do they realize it belongs to the former resident. Then they understand what those voices said and what their duty is.
